The Problem:

A major obstacle to micro-mobility adoption was the growing fear of theft—amplified by the rise of the flip economy and the lack of intuitive built-in protection. This fear created significant friction during the purchase decision process, reduced consumer confidence, and ultimately hindered both conversion rates and long-term user retention.

The Solution:

To address this, I led the design of a multi-layered digital security experience directly integrated into the product’s core UI. This included:

• A user-friendly UI

• Seamless unlocking via Passcode, NFC and Bluetooth

• Native integration with Apple Find My for real-time tracking

These features were designed to work intuitively in the background, minimizing user effort while maximizing security and peace of mind. The result: increased trust, higher perceived product value, and a measurable boost in customer conversion and retention.

In parallel, I developed a secure digital master key system to enable authorized servicing of the product without compromising overall fleet security. This solution was carefully architected to ensure that, even in the event of service hardware theft or misuse, the broader security framework of the product remained protected—balancing operational serviceability with robust anti-theft safeguards.

Really well designed

Really well designed, and well thought out. Everything works brilliantly and it is super fun to ride. We also like the fact that it is US made with a dealership nearby for service if necessary.

Exceptional E-Bike

This is my second RadRunner E-Bike. The technology has advanced over the years bringing this bike to anyones top of the list. It has 8 speed gearing, advanced breaking system and a safe shield battery. I love the kickstand - bike sits straight up like a motorcycle stand. I believe this bike has all the safety features you would need on the road of riding. What I like is the updated screen - it has several safety features - approaching vehicle/bike from 100 meters behind, use of turn signals, and of course speed, distance so that you are prepared. Security capability is there which uses Find My/Apple. I bought the Fat Tire Wheel lock with the security chain and they work flawless together. I haven't been out at night to try out the front lamp but in the garage it is super bright. Overall the money spent is worth it for the features and quality of the bike.
