The Problem:

Through customer research, a key problem was identified: both the existing monochrome LCD and LED heads-up displays and user interfaces, while functional, were perceived as dated and out of sync with the product's price point and overall quality.

This discrepancy not only detracted from the user experience but also highlighted a lack of features, advanced functionality and automation that could foster a more seamless and engaging relationship between the rider and their electric bike. As competition in the market was growing rapidly it was crucial to meet customer desires with novel software and enhanced hardware solution.

The Redesign:

Competitive analysis revealed that while other manufacturers had attempted to address these customer concerns and desires, their solutions fell short. This insight provided our team with a clear design direction, ensuring our product would deliver a superior customer experience and directly steered the development of our functional requirements and testing initiatives.

The redesign prioritized high contrast and visibility across all lighting conditions—including use with polarized sunglasses—while also enhancing tactile responsiveness through an improved button layout. These refinements significantly elevated information clarity and scanability, contributing to a safer and more engaging rider experience.

The enhanced display architecture also enabled expanded functionality such as:

• Personalized maintenance alerts

• Integrated turn signal indicators

• Rear radar alerts

• High and low beam headlights

• Automatic lighting functionality

• Estimated range remaining (distance and %)

• Battery doubling capabilities

• Enhanced BMS features

• Battery SOH and SOC

These additional features further differentiating the product in a competitive market.

My Dream E-Bike

Absolutely in love with everything on this bike, I was waiting for something to come out in a color that spoke to me and the metallic green on this is gorgeous. But then the features? Above and beyond! It was so easy to set up and get everything adjusted to how I like it. The tech is great, I like being able to connect my phone to a lot of the features. The radar is nice too, I still check over my shoulder, obviously, but it is great for an extra alert. The bike is effortless to operate and I’m already eyeing my next accessories to enhance my rides :) the locking console was a great addition already

Great bikes. We got two

Excellent

Even better than the RadCity 5 plus, and that bike was excellent. Easy to ride and very stable. Perky and goes 28 mph. 8 instead of 7 speeds and better button controls and derailuer. Immobilizer is a nice touch. Color display, good sunlight readablity. Frame is easier to step over. White shows up better on the street compared with black - good for safety. Turn signals are cool. Excellent!
